RECENT PROJECTS


"Coldstore" 2007

Kuehlhaus am Gleisdreieck, Berlin
Curated by Luna Nera artist Julian Ronnefeldt, "Coldstore" was a collaboration of invited artists from Berlin and Luna Nera, who have been working in close relation over the past 5 years. “Coldstore” made a site-responsive exploration of the building in its important urban setting, as well as creating an international dialogue between the artists and the Berlin public.

"Thingland" 2007

Luna Nera showed selections from their video collection "Postindustrial Baroque" as part of a 3-day studio show featuring artists Nazir Tanbouli, Nicholas Wright and Joseph Kelly, at Thingland, Nottingham.

"Vidifestival" 2006

Luna Nera presented a programme of work at this international festival of video art in Valencia, Spain, initiated by La Sala Naranja.

"Climatic Conditional" 2006

"Climatic Conditional" was an open air intervention by Luna Nera on the Smetanovo Embankment in downtown Prague. A collaboration with Prague theatre group Motus.

Generalized Empowerment 2006
"Platform for Urban Interventions"

Luna Nera was on the steering group for this international conference on Urban Interventions as political art practice. Initiated by City Mined, the event took place at UCL University of London June 2006, with keynote speaker Saskia Sassen. Contact City Mined for publication and more info.

London St Pancras 2003
Luna Nera participated in a major site-responsive event: an intervention into the massive Midland grand Hotel at St Pancras, London. Together with invited aritst from Berlin, Russia and the UK, Luna Nera transformed the architecturally-significant space in response to the theme of "the derelict sensation".

St Petersburg 2003
Gillian McIver, Julian Ronnefeldt, Hilary Powell and guest artists Eran Tsafir and Lennie Lee made projects for the "St Petersburg 300 Years" tercentennial. Exhibiting in the Manege Central Exhibition Hall and in Kronstadt, they presented video, performance and installation art based on direct encounters with the city, its past and its present.
